About Lee Crowther
Hi! My name is Lee. I specialize in information: finding, analyzing, understanding, organizing, and communicating it, using tools like Python, R, Excel, and research databases. Since 2011, I have worked in information science. My work has spanned many subjects, particularly in the fields of health care, education, management, and political science. Working with such a breadth of topics has enabled me to make sense of new information quickly. Stakeholder needs have also varied widely, ranging from basic overviews to deep dives into the data. This has made me adaptable and honed my ability to distill information in a way that is relevant to the person who needs it. As a critical thinker, I strive to understand the purpose behind what I’m working on. This keeps me mindful of potential process improvements and enables me to approach my work in a way that is effective and resource-conscious and produces high-quality and helpful deliverables. I am insatiably curious and place great value on lifelong learning. For example, starting around 2019, after hearing about what Python could do, I wanted to use it myself, so I learned it by seeking out online resources. A similar process followed for SQL. I later completed the Google Data Analytics Specialization. Each of these has made an impact, both in my work as a librarian and in the projects I do for fun. I look forward to continuing to apply what I have learned and to learning more.
