Communicating daily with over 25+ airlines, dealing with duty managers and senior airline officials• Managing and monitoring shift, ensuring a smooth operation with minimum disruption• Establishing efficiency of workload to make cuts on labour and thereby reducing staffing budget• Prepare on job training programmes and evaluate performance of staff• Establish safe working procedures for all areas of operation in coordination with the safety department and ensuring its implementation to keep accidents to a minimum• Taken offline for 2 months to stabilize allocation process to reduce delays and operational impact reporting direct to Ramp Manager/Station Manager to provide daily updates• Performance management of staff including disciplinaries, return to work interviews • Line management of 100 staff per shift• Working as part of a team ensuring timely and professional turnaround of customer aircraft with baggage and freight, operating different types of equipment and flexibly working on shift patterns• Overseeing the safe arrival and on-time departure activities (unloading, offloading and ground support of the aircraft on the ramp)• Overseeing the accurate processing, storage and dispatch of both inbound and outbound baggage, cargo, mail and ULDs (unit loading devices)• Ensuring that any loading deviation is authorised by the dispatcher or load controller before release of the aircraft• Devising individual learning plans• Monitoring and reviewing the progress of trainees• Identifying training needs• Accountable for ensuring the allocation of resources is undertaken independently and in line with planned business needs, the dynamic real time operational demands meeting the targets established in the service level agreement• Checking availability of resources i.e. manpower, equipment and facilities throughout the shift to ensure operational requirements meets the SLA standards• Ensuring smooth handover from colleagues on shift
