   The Assistant Manager is a hybrid role with a combination of in-person events and remote work that varies seasonally, reporting to the two Program Managers.The Assistant Manager will work alongside the Program Managers to coordinate and host community-based street tree care events in NYC neighborhoods, and educate residents on the importance of street trees and caring for their green infrastructure. The Assistant Manager will manage and lead their own events and support the team with volunteer outreach and event promotion.Responsibilities Lead neighborhood street tree care events with various age groups and experience levels (requiring flexible hours, weekends and some afternoon/evenings) Identify and build relationships with community partners Schedule street tree care events, ensuring they align with current goals and metrics Schedule and staff tabling events at community events, open streets, block parties, etc Create event listings and social media graphics for event promotion Recruit volunteers for street tree care events with local outreach efforts Support the Program Managers in developing a community-led street tree care initiative Strategize best organizational, communication, and outreach processes for largestcommunity impact Potential and interest to assist in other tree focused capacities, including planting orwatering, and/or tree guard installation. Regular (weekly and monthly) meetings with other team members Strong knowledge and passion for environmental education around compost, trees andthe living soil food-web, including worm bins As needed supporting the other environmental initiatives and partners
