Evaluating project effects on aquatic habitats, species, and ecosystems and integrating knowledge of ecology, biology, and natural resource management. Implementing principles, methods, and techniques of interdisciplinary scientific research dedicated to advancing our understanding of riverine, coastal, and/or marine ecosystems for the support and conservation of species protected by various state and federal laws. Current projects include offshore wind EIS, FEMA guidance revisions for listed salmonids, marine transportation corridor environmental assessments, and coastal development project assessments. In addition to extensive expertise in sciences related to natural resources, Leanne is knowledgeable in interdisciplinary implementation of federal environmental regulations, especially the Endangered Species Act (ESA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Magnuson-Stevens Fishery and Conservation Act, Wild and Scenic Rivers Act (WSRA), and the Marine Mammal Protection Act. Work cover analysis of impacts for a wide range of project types, including transportation, coastal and stream shoreline stabilization and restoration, shoreline construction, and marine stewardship.
