About Leanne Nettles

Leanne Nettles is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and graduate from Fuller Theological Seminary. Leanne currently works as in Private Practice, and as an Adjunct Professor at Pacific Oaks College. Leanne specializes in working with at-risk children, adolescents, and families, while bringing energy and enthusiasm to developing team-focused collaborative therapy and expanding community partnerships. Leanne is passionate toward empowering disenfranchised communities while advocating for culturally competent therapy. She has also served as facilitator of the DMH Hollywood Health Neighborhood collaboration with the Department of Mental Health. Leanne is passionate toward improving understanding and culturally-competent therapeutic practice, and integrating spirituality into therapy. Leanne has guest-lectured on culture and mental health at Cal State Northridge, and the importance of utilizing spirituality during assessment and treatment planning at Pacific Oaks College. Leanne has also facilitated Cultural-Spiritual Formation Groups, Therapist of Color Support Groups, and currently serves on the LA-CAMFT Board as Past President. Leanne provides training and is a certified supervisor/trainer for MAP: Managing and Adapting Practice as a core Evidence-Based Practice in community-based services. Leanne also has a Bachelor’s degree in Dance with a Language and Culture emphasis, enjoys utilizing movement in therapy and facilitating cultural dance classes, and has training as a Dance For All facilitator. Leanne has partnered with the LA-CAMFT Diversity Committee on creating a series of Anti-racism Roundtable events, equity initiatives, and has created and facilitated diversity CEU workshops on considerations for therapy with Mixed-Race Clients, and in Spirituality and Mental Health.
