ABOUT LEANNE MCKAY
A proficient seismic interpreter with strong project management experience, having worked with major operators including ConocoPhillips, Chrysaor, Harbour Energy and CNOOC. I thrive on technically challenging projects and bring a results-oriented, disciplined approach to every role. With extensive experience in reservoir development and near-field exploration, I excel at interpreting complex geological and geophysical datasets, integrating multidisciplinary insights, and delivering high-quality technical work on time. I am highly skilled in Petrel and comfortable leading or contributing within cross-functional teams. Recognised as a reliable, motivated and proactive professional, I combine strong communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities with the confidence to challenge assumptions and drive sound technical decisions. I am ambitious, adaptable, and currently seeking my next technically challenging opportunity where I can continue to add value and deliver impactful subsurface insights. Featured Project: SLB GeoSphere Deep Directional Resistivity Tool (ConocoPhillips)At ConocoPhillips, I played a key role in implementing a new deep directional resistivity technology (GeoSphere) to optimise well placement. Our team used the tool to eliminate the need for a traditional pilot well and successfully geosteer a horizontal well with greater confidence, significantly reducing drilling time and cost. I contributed to the technical evaluation, subsurface integration and real-time interpretation of GeoSphere data, enabling more accurate reservoir entry and improved drilling efficiency. The success of this workflow represented a major achievement for the asset team and demonstrated the value of advanced geosteering technologies in complex reservoir environments. Following the project, I co-authored a technical paper on our findings and presented the work at the Offshore Europe Conference, showcasing the results to a wider industry audience. The team was awarded a ConocoPhillips UK Spirit Award for the successful project delivery.
