About Leann Boyd

LeAnn C. Boyd, PharmD, is a Founding Partner and Chief Executive Officer for Southern Scripts. LeAnn has over a decade of experience in health care with an emphasis in the pharmaceutical space. LeAnn’s various professional experiences have allowed her to appreciate managed care pharmacy from many perspectives: health plan, health system, PBM, disease management, clinician, and community pharmacy provider. LeAnn has a deep passion for redefining pharmacy benefit management and developing innovative models for the self-insured employer market. Prior to founding Southern Scripts, LeAnn gained significant pharmacy benefit management experience as the Director of Pharmacy for Beyond Rx, Pharmacy Consultant for Pharm Assess, Medication Therapy Management Network Administrator for Third Party Station, and Director of Clinical Services for RxSolutions. LeAnn, along with her husband and father, own and operate pharmacies in the retail and long-term care environments providing home infusion, compounding, specialty pharmacy, and the Pills In A Pouch medication adherence packaging program. Additionally, LeAnn has held board member seats for the Louisiana Drug Utilization Review, the Louisiana Pharmacist Association, the American Pharmacist Association Policy Committee, and currently serves as Louisiana’s representative to the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy’s Legislative Action Committee. LeAnn has been a speaker at many national meetings, conferences, and symposia sharing her insights on topics including collaborative practice, medication therapy management, and pharmaceutical care models. Her various roles have led to a wide breadth of experiences that marry together to give her a unique viewpoint on pharmacy benefit management. LeAnn is a summa cum laude graduate from the University of Louisiana at Monroe holding a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and completed a primary care residency with the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
