Legal Services NYC’s (LSNYC) mission is to fight poverty and seek racial, social, and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers. LSNYC helps New Yorkers obtain the basic necessities of life, including housing, economic security, family and immigration stability, education, health care, and challenge the systemic injustices that trap people in poverty.Brooklyn Legal Services (BLS) helps thousands of low-income Brooklynites access justice each year—services they could not otherwise afford. BLS\'s passionate and skilled team of over 150 lawyers, paralegals, social workers, and support staff help clients across a broad range of free civil legal services. The office\'s work spans from day-to-day representation in court, to civil rights complaints in state and federal agencies, to multi-year litigation and advocacy that fosters strong, equitable, and affordable communities.LSNYC\'s housing practice represents low-income tenants in many different settings, including defending tenants in eviction proceedings in housing court, representing tenants in administrative hearings, bringing affirmative litigation, and handling appeals at all levels.
