ABOUT LEAH PINEDA
I’m a double major in Psychology and Forensic Science at Syracuse University, with a strong academic foundation, including consecutive appearances on the Dean’s List. My interests lie at the intersection of mental health, criminal justice, and behavioral science, and I’m passionate about using research and practical experience to understand human behavior better and improve systems of care. Through my current internship, on-campus roles, and community involvement, I’ve developed experience in early childhood education, social media content creation, and applied psychological research. I bring a detail-oriented, collaborative, and empathetic approach to every opportunity, whether I’m supporting children’s development, conducting data analysis, or helping communicate mental health resources in accessible ways. I’m eager to continue building hands-on experience in research, clinical settings, or justice-focused environments. I’m particularly interested in work that promotes equity, supports vulnerable populations, and bridges the gap between scientific research and its everyday impact.
