About Leah Engstrom

My name is Leah Engstrom and I am currently a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh majoring in Business Management with a focus on Project Management! My expected graduation date is December of 2024. In terms of my work experience, I have had various jobs since the age of 15. I have worked in restaurants, retail and hospitality, which taught me how to effectively communicate with customers. My most impressive work experience is my time spent with College Works Painting. Freshman year I was an intern in the Appleton/Oshkosh area where I successfully ran a business. Throughout my intern year I was challenged with finding and obtaining clients which greatly improved my professional communication and sales skills. I was also in charge of hiring and managing a group of employees which aided in improving my leadership and management skills. Throughout the program I was faced with multiple obstacles that enhanced my problem solving skills. After completing my intern year I was quickly promoted to District Manager, where I was in charge of recruiting and hiring interns throughout the fall and winter. In the spring I trained my interns in marketing, sales, customer service and management. I successfully managed a team of interns producing in revenue. Most recently I was promoted to Senior District Manager which entails the same responsibilities of my previous position, but I was tasked with conducting interviews and leading company wide trainings. Overall, my time at College Works has provided me with hands-on experience, enabling me to grow in a variety of different skills. In the future I am looking to obtain a position in sales or management. I am always looking for new challenges and experiences to continue learning and growing.
