We are building the next generation lidar technology on a chip so widespread applications such as self-driving cars, robots, remote sensing, etc. become realities.My responsibilities include:* Lead product integration, calibration, and characterization.* System architecture design and hardware specification* Full end-to-end system modeling, simulation, and link budgeting.* Lead range design for high throughput lidar calibration and characterization.* Lead integration of complete system dev-kit and development, debug, and demo.* System level demonstration of a working FMCW lidar prototype enabled by our proprietary silicon photonics chip interfaced with custom electronics.* Direct photonics testing and component characterization efforts both on the wafer-level and the die-level.* Exploring different photonics integrated circuit technologies to reduce the size and cost of our lidar system to 1/10 of that of competing systems.* System level demonstration of a working FMCW lidar empowered by in-house developed silicon photonics chip.* Demonstrating novel software-based narrow-linewidth laser control architectures for FMCW lidar that reduce its complexity in hardware by more than 80%.* Played a key role in defining the company’s technical direction and product vision. Spearheaded the development of multiple foundational technologies and contributed to core intellectual property
