Three roles fit under my job description include, Program Manager, Project Manager and Delivery Manager. I was hired and given the opportunity to manage two projects. During project reviews, I identified and categorized them as programs. With management and PMO approval, issued charters for each of the projects, I aliened them with the PMI, the internal PMO and the Agile methodology. Re-categorization lead to improved team focus, speed of execution and timely delivery. The team was able to narrow their focus on their individual task, within a single project. Meeting the SLAs, which would have other wised been missed. Legal obligations were met. As the project manager, I applied Agile and quickly brought all projects to a GREEN status. I awarded the team with the freedom to define their roles and methods of execution and delivery. Wearing my delivery manager hat, I was given additional responsibilities of procurement, vendor management and account management. I was also responsible for managing (including assigning) resources to projects.
