About Lucas Luke Beebe

I’m a current glider tow pilot, nationally ranked soaring pilot, and senior aerospace student at MTSU. My foundation in flight began with a glider lesson at age 9. After soloing in gliders at 14, I’ve spent time refining my stick-and-rudder skills and building diverse experience across tailwheel, high-performance, gliders, and other GA aircraft platforms.While still early in my glider racing career, I can say that there is no better place to be. The racing community is a small, but mighty group mainly comprised of scientists, engineers, and business owners. Although all want to win, each pilot helps one another sharing strategies, safety tips, and comradery. Towing gliders has been a complimentary privilege to learning cross-country soaring where I get to apply my love for tailwheel flying. These experiences have given me valuable skills in:• Prompt and Safe Decision Making• Application of Forecasted, Reported, and Observed Atmospheric Information• Aircraft Systems, Assembly/Disassembly, Maintenance, and Performance & Limitations• Team Flying & SRMIn the short-term I plan on continuing flying gliders while pursuing further training and certificates.
