About Laysa Lage

Hi, I’m Laysa I’m a Creative Technologist working at the intersection of technology, design, and innovation. Part developer, part designer, part inventor. I build interactive experiences, prototype ideas that don’t exist yet, craft tools that merge art and engineering, and turn curiosity into tangible, forward-thinking projects.At 17, I discovered an asteroid. It’s officially designated 2021 PS59, validated by NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Minor Planet Center. The discovery earned me a Medal of Honor from Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, and a place on the Forbes Under 30 list in Space & Education.In 2023, I was selected as a NASA L’SPACE Program Principal Investigator, leading a team in developing technology proposals aligned with active NASA mission needs. I gave a TED Talk on why reaching Mars matters for humanity. I’ve spoken on main stages alongside NASA astronauts, digitized the lost notebooks of history’s most important women astronomers in collaboration with Harvard & Smithsonian, and contributed to global impact networks spanning 175+ countries.I write code, fly planes, and play the violin. Not always in that order.Future astronaut. Always curious.
