About Elizabeth Yang

I graduated from UC Berkeley at 19, worked at NASA and Raytheon, went to law school at night, and built a firm that now runs without me.Today I\'m the founder and CEO of Yang Law Offices, where we handle family law (custody, support, divorce, prenups), business law (entity formation, contracts, disputes), intellectual property (patents, copyrights, trademarks), and estate planning (wills and trusts). I\'m also a co-founder of Optinizers, a remote talent agency connecting U.S. companies with virtual assistants in the Philippines who specialize in paralegal, bookkeeping, marketing, and admin work.My path into family law wasn\'t planned. A divorce while I was already a practicing attorney taught me more about what clients actually need than any textbook ever could. That experience is why I lead with honesty, not billable hours.I\'ve been recognized as a Top 100 Civil Lawyer and Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers Association (2016–2024), named a Super Lawyer by Thomson Reuters (2022–2023) and Rising Star (2017–2021), and received the Lawyers of Distinction award for the top 10% of attorneys in the U.S. I\'m admitted to the United States Patent & Trademark Office. I\'ve also authored multiple books, including The Big Secret (with Jack Canfield) and Stress-Free Divorce.Outside the firm, I serve as Mayor of Monterey Park and I\'m a member of Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), where I\'ve applied the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) to transform how my firm and now my city operates.I write here about the path from engineering to law to entrepreneurship to public office and what I\'ve learned at every turn.If you\'re a business owner, a founder going through a divorce, or someone navigating a legal challenge you didn\'t see coming, let\'s connect.
