As Senior Director, Device Development, I lead all device and combination product development programs across our therapeutic areas from research to late-stage lifecycle management as well as creating the systems, structure, and processes to support compliant drug-device development. From large volume subcutaneous delivery (on body and Off) for Empaveli to a prefilled syringe and novel needles for intravitreal injection of our breakthrough treatment of geographic atrophy, Apellis’ development pipeline encompasses a wide range of routes of administration with unique challenges requiring sophisticated resourcing strategies to meet the business and patient needs.
