Oversee research and development projects and manage a team of 4-6 scientific colleagues. I am responsible for day to day operations of the department, manage the budget, drive and line up resources for current projects. I negotiate with instrument vendors for consumables, instrument purchase, lease and service contracts and also collaborate closely with sales, marketing and clinical services to design new test panels that drive business growth as well as increase revenue from existing services. I lead a team to perform a thorough assessment of new technologies and competitive offerings to identify market opportunities. In this current position, about 50% of my time is spent at the bench developing and validating bioanalytical LC-MS/MS assays on small and large molecule drugs. I work with both triple quadrupole and HRMS instruments from Sciex, Waters and Thermo. Method development includes sample prep (SPE/SLE), UPLC parameters, MS profiles and also TECAN script writing/validation.
