About Lawrence Groth

Lawrence, a California native developed a passion for the ocean and diving early in life. He began diving in 1977 at the age of 13 in Northern California. Since then Lawrence enjoyed a successful career as a Commercial Diver and Professional Mariner. Lawrence is the Captain of the ship and the driving force keeping the company in the lead as the best shark diving operation in the world. Lawrence recently designed and built a Self Propelled Shark Cage (SPSC) that has revolutionized underwater filmmaking specifically of white sharks and other pelagic species. Lawrence is widely known in the diving industry as the “Go To Guy” for filming great white sharks. You have seen his work on many white shark film projects such as Sharks 3D IMAX and most recently in the feature film DARK TIDE starring Halle Berry. Lawrence has more experience working with white sharks than anyone in the northern hemisphere and is regarded as one of the top 5 shark diving operators in the world.
