Our cohort, a team of professionals who have a passion for service to the community joined together in partnership with HISD to plan a career day for middle and high school students and create lifestyle videos that highlighted a variety of professionals in public service, arts & humanities, and business and industry careers. Address the disproportionate number of qualified Houstonians versus variety of career industries in the Houston area Provide basic career development and soft skills for employment Expose students to key financial concepts Impacted 189 middle and high school students in the Houston area Program highlighted on national radio stations and news platforms Embarked on a fundraising campaign that raised an impressive $,% of website visitors stated they learned something new about a career they didn’t know exister % of participants visited the website to learn about managing personal finances.% said they could relate to the highlighted professional featured on the video
