ABOUT LAVINIA REBECCHINI
I am a clinical psychologist and postdoctoral researcher in Perinatal Psychiatry at the SPI Lab, King’s College London, working on two major studies: Melodies for Mums with Postnatal Depression (M4M) and PRAM-D (Psychiatry Research and Motherhood – Depression). M4M is part of SHAPER (Scaling-up Health-Arts Programmes: Implementation and Effectiveness Research), the world’s largest study on the impact and scalability of arts interventions for health. My PhD is embedded in M4M and focuses on mother-infant interaction and maternal mentalization, evaluating changes before and after a music and singing intervention for mothers with postnatal depression and their infants. Alongside this, I work on the PRAM-D longitudinal study, which investigates maternal communication and mentalization in three groups of mothers—those with antenatal depression, a history of depression, and healthy controls—with behavioral assessments at 8 weeks and 12 months postpartum. My expertise includes perinatal psychiatry, mood disorders, mother-infant interaction coding, reflective functioning, clinical assessments, longitudinal and randomized controlled trials, and implementation science in mental health.
