About Kennard Laviers

I have had the fortune to work on a host of large and complex projects that encompass multiple tools working together and many different programming languages. I\'ve spent 9 years creating academic applications and performing research up through the PhD level. I started my own software development company where I wrote over 30 games using Objective C, SWIFT and later Unity (C#). I taught for 7 years at the university level and performed CS research in that time, but I missed developing too much so I went back to work as a Sr Software Engineer a couple years ago.Recently I’ve worked as a full stack developer over several projects in React, Angular, Python, Java.Net, Elastic Search, and Go Lang.Currently I’m organizing messy big data using advanced OCR techniques and machine learning into a datalake accessible to a semantic search AI. I’m interested in research regarding artificial intelligence (AI), multi-agent learning, search algorithms, image processing, using artificial intelligence to augment network security, data visualization, 2D and 3D simulations, data compression and distributed systems.

   I work on a budget analysis and reporting tool that analyzes fund data and plans fiscal budgets. This tool also provides automated reports in a presentation format. I develop on the React frontend and parts of the Java backend, and I also write the team\'s data analytics code in Python. We use Java, SCALA, C#.Net Core, and Spring Boot for the database\'s RESTful backend. For the frontend, we employ React paired with the Material UI library. Acceptance testing is conducted using Cypress tests, and we utilize the Highcharts library for application charts.
