ABOUT LAVERNE FRITH

I am founder and proprietor of Frith Press (1995) and founder, co-editor and publisher of Ekphrasis (1997), the premier journal of ekphrastic poetry, in which each poem focuses on a single work of art. Ekphrasis is grantor of the annual Ekphrasis Prize in poetry. I am also a member of the Reviewer Panel, New York Journal of Books. I was the monthly poetry columnist for a widely circulated Northern-California magazine entitled \"Living in the West\" from 1996 through 2014. My columns addressed a wide variety of poetry subjects, providing encouragement to a diverse audience for the appreciation of poetry, as well as furnishing guidance on poetry-writing subjects and techniques. Conductor of poetry workshops on various topics, including the writing of lyric poetry, French forms, and short poetry forms. I conduct special workshops on preparing chapbook and other manuscripts for the competitive marketplace.
