ABOUT LAURYN WEBSTER

As a keen, enthusiastic, organised person, with ambitions of entering an Events/Guest Experience Management role in a local Industry. I am also keen and willing to engage with customers, stakeholders, and third parties, and provide customer service as part of the role. I am currently looking to used my strong skills and experience (as below) to successful fulfil full-time employment in such a position. My passions and interests with regard to a career/work lie equally in all Scottish industries, as well as fashion and art. In 2024, I helped my family friend organise some of the logistics, and finer details, of her wedding alongside designing and creating her signage and stationery, at Meldrum House Country Hotel. This has given me a huge insight into all that goes into planning a wedding and I thoroughly enjoyed this all while it gave me a great sense of achievement to see it all come together on the day. I also created my cousin’s wedding signage for her big day, which followed 2 days later at The Schivas Steading. Both sets of signage challenged me as I used new medias and resources, expanding my skills and knowledge. Having worked in the whisky industry for 5 years, I have grown to become an enthusiast of the Scottish whisky industry and all things Speyside. I have a huge interest and love for the distilleries, the production process, and their origins. I am also very passionate about customer relations and experiences, events, and all things organising. I am highly motivated by the stories that come from the industry, from days gone by and present. I have gained a lot of experience and knowledge that I am confident will continue to grow. I have worked in administration (covering compliance, HMRC, work instructions, work orders and much more) and warehousing; this has given me a vast variety of information and skills. I was also fortunate enough to work and host at some of the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival 2023 events with the host company. This has given me a real taste for Events. In my small business, I incorporate my creative flare, and my love for the Scottish Whisky industry, to create signs for all purposes. I began creating these signs during the 2020 Covid lockdown at the age of 21, and have learned a lot of DIY, business management, and customer service skills since. Making these signs, and running a business, is something I have taught myself; while I have been able to use some of the skills learned from my admin. jobs to help the business operate.
