ABOUT LAURYN BOWER

Thank you for visiting my profile. I am a native of Chelsea, Alabama, and a Clinical Doctorate of Occupational Therapy graduate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Health Professions. I am a licensed and registered occupational therapist with experience across pediatric and adult rehabilitation settings.I currently work as a full-time Occupational Therapist at St. Vincent’s Birmingham, providing acute care services to medically complex adults. In this role, I evaluate and treat patients across a wide range of diagnoses, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and focus on promoting safe mobility, independence in daily activities, and effective discharge planning to support optimal outcomes.In addition, I serve as a PRN Occupational Therapist at UAB Spain Rehabilitation Center, where I provide inpatient neurorehabilitation for adults with conditions such as spinal cord injury, stroke, and traumatic brain injury.My background also includes pediatric outpatient and early intervention care, with specialized experience supporting individuals with visual impairments. I have completed a Low Vision Rehabilitation Certificate and remain particularly interested in the intersection of vision and occupational therapy across the lifespan.I am passionate about delivering individualized, evidence-based care and continuing to grow clinically while supporting patients in achieving meaningful functional independence.
