ABOUT LAURRIE MCKENDRY
In the spring of 2023 I finished my dissertation, which examined a group of white women as they journeyed towards understanding their white selfhood. This research study’s focus is on white women striving to become aware of their complicity in the system of White Body Supremacy® and the work to dismantle it within themselves. The future trajectory of my research will continue to ask the questions around embodied anti-racism/anti-discrimination practices, personal responsibility, and why these matter in organizations (both in business and higher education). My hope is that one of the potential benefits of researching these occurrences is that organizations, communities, and individuals will begin to understand the importance of practicing genuine culture building based on respect, honor, and resonating with one another. Established stakeholders for this line of research are faculty and staff in higher education, employees, management, and C-Suite personnel in businesses, organizations, and communities. My passion is focusing on individuals, since it is individuals that make up any organization.
