Experienced bilingual Occupational Therapist with varied experiences including patient care, administration, clinical education provider at local, state, national and international levels. Varied education experiences in providing clinical education at the corporate level and university level. Presentations from local to international levels. Experiences in research, article writing, published in journals associated with profession. Experiences in Medicare/Medicaid/ regulatory/institutional compliance, problem resolution and education within those areas. Was lucky enough to find the job of a lifetime at Austin State Hospital. This place has renewed my passion for occupational therapy, I am getting a chance to sharpen my skills as an OT with a peers and leadership that appreciate, respect, and promote this wonderful discipline. OT in the context of psychiatry has taken me back to the roots of OT along with with the current science that is involved in this setting. When I was a student I remember having to prepare a speech dealing with art and science of occupational therapy. It all comes together in psychiatry. 32 years ago I am sure I did not have a clue about that topic. Today, I finally understand.And I still have a camera close by!
