ABOUT LAURIENNE EDGAR
I am an enthusiastic scientist who is analytically minded and driven by a want to understand disease pathology in order to develop and improve current therapeutic options for those that need it most. My fascination with understanding disease biology and novel therapeutic concepts has driven me to pursue it academically - successfully gaining a first class, award-winning BSc in Pharmacology and completing a DPhil from the University of Oxford. It has also driven me to actively engage with science communication activities with the university and the British Heart Foundation as well as scientific public engagement events such as organising and running an annual Pint of Science event in Oxford. I have recently been awarded one of the highest accolades in my field - the British Cardiology Society Young Investigator Award 2018.Being at Novo Nordisk allows me to utilise my scientific mind and build upon my skills for networking, collaboration and communicating science so that I can continue to try helping those suffering from diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
