Laurie Scharf is a dedicated and compassionate Master of Social Work (MSW) student with a strong background in child psychotherapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work (BA). Currently pursuing her MSW at the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, she has gained valuable professional experience as a Social Work Intern at Journeys Rehab and Thrive Clinic in New York City. In this role, she provides supervised counseling for individuals struggling with addiction issues, employing a range of therapeutic techniques such as play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family System (IFS),and mindfulness practices. She specializes in supporting children and adolescence with anxiety, eating disorders, and behavioral challenges, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. In addition to her professional endeavors, Laurie Scharf has demonstrated a strong commitment to volunteer work, serving as a Hospital Volunteer with Chai Lifeline and a Counselor at Camp Simcha. At Chai Lifeline, she offered compassionate care and support to children undergoing cancer treatment, providing respite to parents and advocating for the children\'s needs.
