ABOUT LAURIE MURDOCH
Laurie is the rare senior HR leader whose decades of experience doesn\'t prevent her from rolling up her sleeves where she\'s needed. With over 20 years of experience in the visual effects and animation industry, she is currently the VP, People & Organization (HR) at Sony Imageworks. Her role is focused on developing and driving the HR strategy at the executive level for the Los Angeles, Vancouver and Montreal offices - a client group comprised of 1600 people. Her focus is largely in workforce planning, organizational design, scaling and expansion, change management, coaching, employee relations, leadership development, compensation strategy. Laurie is sought out for her keen ability to find a solution to any problem and offer the coaching, direction or action needed to drive the business forward. Laurie has her CPHR designation, is a Registered Immigration Consultant and received her Human Resource Management Certificate thru BCIT. Laurie has also successfully completed many of the Conflict Resolution and Leadership courses at the Justice Institute of BC and continues her professional development through UBC Sauder School of Business.
