About Laurie Harris

I am a dedicated educator-turned-engagement professional with a strong background in teaching, coaching, and community building. For 10 years, I taught high school mathematics before moving into instructional coaching, where I supported teachers in curriculum development, classroom management, and assessment practices while also serving as a testing coordinator. These experiences strengthened my skills in mentorship, systems management, and collaborative leadership.Today, I serve as the Director of Alumni Engagement, where I lead networking initiatives, plan and host university events, manage social media content and strategy, and build meaningful connections with alumni from all walks of life. My work centers on cultivating relationships, strengthening community, and creating opportunities for lifelong engagement with the university.Outside of my professional life, I enjoy movies, reading, cooking, crafting, spending time with my family, and relaxing with a good TV show. I am also deeply involved in my local church, where I serve in several capacities and find great purpose in faith and community.
