The Smithsonian made all of the necessary changes she found which included visual, height and fall risk issues of the environment and exhibits.

ABOUT LAUREN LIEBENSON WARD
Providing direct care to older adults with quality of life engagement with social, spiritual, emotional physical, mental, intellectual and community re-integration services since 1981 at Adult Day Health, Senior Centers, and in Skilled Nursing Facilities. Within that time frame she performed the above services as a Licensed Recreational Therapist for 24 years. Lauren is the President and Senior Living Advisor with Thrive Senior Advisors and Recreational Therapist (TRS). With her skills and knowledge providing direct care her dedication to her serving clients aligns with her own set of values - quality of life and leisure lifestyle engagement for clients\' loved ones whether they are independent seeking continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), retirement, assisted living, memory care or Adult Family Homes. For me, this livelihood fulfills my love for advocacy and my previous work as a Recreational Therapist - which focuses on providing families and their loved ones quality of life so all involved may THRIVE. “It\'s a gift to be able to assist families and seniors out of the turbulence of crisis they\'ve been thrown into; while for others, it\'s an honor and privilege to help them find new opportunities for fulfillment in a community living leisure lifestyle.” She also enjoys offering information and educational resources to families about their loved ones\' diseases and processes to facilitate greater understanding which may nurture more compassion, empathy, and communication for the relationship between them and their elderly loved ones while they embark on their journeys together. Lauren’s background includes partnering with the medical community, social workers, professionals, and various faith and multicultural communities to assist their residents, patients or families in need. While working in adult day health Lauren lead Alzheimer’s Support group meetings sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Assn of WA, DC. Lastly, her abilities and knowledge enabled her the pleasure and opportunity to assist in supervising a memory care unit along with training care staff on how to provide services to the most combative victims suffering from dementia using various methods including Naomi Feil\'s Validation Therapy Method.
