I am the host of PBS Utah\'s public affairs program Utah Insight, and I also produce, report, shoot, write, and edit for the show. As part of the station\'s digital-first initiative, I create both long and short form content on community topics, written and edited with a social media audience in mind. Videos I\'ve produced have grown PBS Utah\'s social media accounts, with increasing views and engagement. I helped the station in its rebrand of Utah Insight online, launching a new webpage format featuring blog-style articles that I write to accompany social media videos. My stories have boosted website traffic and brought new viewers to our pages. My reporting for PBS Utah has been featured by other news outlets and shared by local government officials and organizations, proving its journalistic integrity.In addition to digital storytelling, I host the Governor\'s Monthly News Conference, acting as conference moderator and ensuring remote reporters get questions answered by the governor. Leading up to the 2025 election, I moderated the St. George Mayoral and City Council debates in front of a live audience. I researched and prepared questions, which called for learning the intricacies of nuanced topics important to the local community. I kept time and smoothly transitioned between each candidate, while keeping a sharp ear on answers for rebuttals.I planned and moderated a successfully attended community panel discussion event relating to a series I produced on Great Salt Lake dust. For the event, I identified and coordinated three experts with diverse backgrounds on the topic, and guided discussion. The audience of nearly 100 stayed engaged, evidenced by a lively Q&A, and we came away with new member signups/donations while informing people on a critical issue facing our state.I also love to help behind-the-scenes at PBS Utah events, from passing out books, to reading to children, to checking in/chatting with guests, to helping national hosts prep for a show!
