ABOUT LAURENS DOMINICUS

I am an MSc Environmental Protection & Management graduate from the University of Edinburgh where I attained a Merit classification. I completed my undergraduate degree at Aberystwyth University where I attained a 2:1 (Hons) BSc in Environmental Earth Science.My personal interests lie primarily within the socio-economic and environmental development of mining communities, soil contamination/remediation, forestry, land-use management, air quality management, and Environmental Impact Assessment.At BuroHappold Engineering I have been fortunate to work on a wide array of development projects in London primarily, and other parts of the UK, but also further afield in such countries as Saudi Arabia. I have been involved in anything from coordinating EIAs and preparing screening/scoping reports and Environmental Statements (incl. ensuring the timely issue of progress reports, interdisciplinary information/data flows, etc.), to reviewing reports for publication/issue to our clients, providing technical and strategic environmental advice to clients, and preparing technical reports (e.g. Air Quality Assessments incl. air quality dispersion modelling using ADMS-Roads). I have led, from an environmental perspective, a number of multi-disciplinary projects such as a concept masterplan to regenerate a Saudi UNESCO World Heritage Site, an EIA for a flagship courts/police headquarters project in the City of London, and a non-EIA light-industrial workspace in the heart of London, amongst others; providing environmental advice and consultancy services and working closely with clients, planners, and architects to deliver their vision in a sustainable and resilient manner.
