About Lauren Mason

Lauren is a mission-driven fundraiser and champion for community-led development & equity. She brings empathy to her work with 15 years of nonprofit experience, including 10+ years leading fundraising efforts for both local and global community-led organizations. A collaborate and driven nonprofit leader, Lauren has expertise in fundraising, organizational growth, capacity building, operations, and strategic partnerships. Lauren joined GBH as a Senior Development Officer at the end of 2025, a pivotal time for the 75-year old public media powerhouse as they launched an ambitious campaign to \"Fund the Future\" of GBH after the loss of federal funding. GBH is an organization deeply aligned with her values, as well as the creators of children\'s educational programming she grew up on (and she is raising two young PBS-kids who love it as much as she does).Prior to joining the GBH team, Lauren served as the Director of Development at Daily Table, working tocreate access to nutritious, affordable food for families across Greater Boston. Before that, she spent nearly a decade leading fundraising efforts at Komera, a nonprofit in rural Rwanda focused on education, community development, and health. During her time in Rwanda, she saw firsthand the profound importance of community building and the power of telling untold stories—values that deeply align with GBH’s mission.Lauren is a graduate of Hiram College with B.A. in Political Science and Sociology, and brings past nonprofit experience in local and international development, micro-finance, fair trade, and social justice sectors to her work. Lauren lives outside of Boston, MA with her husband David, and their two children, Coetta and Kwame. She is active in her community in book clubs, community events, and volunteering.
