ABOUT LAUREN MEDICI

I specialize in education, engagement, and making the arts accessible through cross-sector collaboration. As Director of Partnerships and Programs at Opera Omaha, I oversees all community programming producing 250+ workshops, performances, and events which reaching over people annually. I am especially proud to lead the Holland Community Opera Fellowship (HCOF). I believe in the transformative power of the arts. My time with Opera Omaha has been spent bringing opera into new communities, especially those that have been historically excluded from the art form and arts education. I advocate for opera as a way to illustrate and promote joy, creativity, and empathy.As an experienced public speaker, I have presented at the Opera America Annual Conference, the Nebraska Arts Council Bi-Annual Conference, and the Omaha YP Summit. I have also facilitated programs and conversations with artists of all genres including GRAMMY winning composer Gabriela Lena Frank, Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Nilo Cruz, composers Missy Mazzoli and Ellen Reid, and choreographer Liz Lerman, just to name a few.
