Provide developmentally appropriate assessment of pediatric patients and families in the Pediatric Emergency Department in order to offer appropriate child life interventions. • Support patients and families during procedures with various child life interventions, including preparation, education, distraction and post-procedural processing, to increase understanding, sense of control, and mastery of procedure. • Advocate for a variety of coping techniques to be utilized during procedures and patient\'s stay in Emergency Department in order to reduce anxiety. • Provide opportunities for play at a developmentally appropriate level in order to normalize the stressful hospital environment. • Supervise and support Child Life volunteers in Pediatric Emergency Department.
