ABOUT LAUREN FLAVELLE

Dr. Lauren Flavelle (née David) is a registered clinical and health psychologist at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, where she is the Regional Clinical and Training Lead for the Central East region of the Ontario Structured Psychotherapy (OSP) Program. She has founded her own virtual private practice, Grenadier Psychotherapy, and sees clients part-time. She graduated from the CPA-accredited Clinical Psychology program at Toronto Metropolitan University. She completed her predoctoral residency and worked as a post-doctoral fellow at St. Joseph\'s in Hamilton, with rotations at the Eating Disorder Service, the Bariatric Clinic and Weight Management Program, the Women\'s Health Concerns Clinic, and the Anxiety Treatment and Research Clinic. Her research has broadly focused on psychosocial factors affecting disordered eating and mental health across the weight spectrum. She has been the recipient of a number of grants and awards, including the Beck Student Scholarship for her clinical work in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the Canadian Institute for Health Research Doctoral Research Award for her dissertation research investigating the efficacy of compassion-based approaches for body image in women with higher body weight. Lauren\'s clinical interests include empirically-supported treatment for individuals with mood, anxiety, and eating disorders. She is a certified therapist with the Canadian Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (CACBT).
