About Lauren Frank

As a driven and interdisciplinary student at Washburn University pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Physics, and Spanish, I am passionate about using technology to solve real-world problems and create equitable solutions for communities. When not working or at school, I love to travel, try new coffee shops, take film pictures (including the CTA picture above), and always have a craft project started!Throughout my professional experiences, I have led and contributed to diverse, data-driven, and user-focused projects. As a Technology Transport Operations Intern at T-Mobile, I developed an automation tool using Azure OpenAI to streamline microwave outage incident classification and led a network device upgrade project to automate the process. My REU fellowship at Gallaudet University strengthened my skills in user experience and accessibility design, while my research at Boston University focused on evaluating data to improve virtual lab instruction. On campus, I’ve gained leadership experience through my roles as Founder and President of the Girls Who Code College Loop, Vice President of the Women in STEM Club, and President of the Physics & Engineering Club. These roles reflect my ongoing commitment to increasing diversity, fostering community, and mentoring others in STEM fields. As a Senior Peer Educator, I’ve further supported student success by designing and facilitating training for over 80 peer educators for the First Year Experience Program and provide mentorship to current Peer Educators.I am proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, and Fortran 90, and skilled in tools like PowerBI, GitHub, Figma, and Azure OpenAI. My goal is to continue building innovative, inclusive technologies by combining data science, software engineering, and human-centered design to drive meaningful impact across industries and communities.Looking to the future as I graduate May 2026, I am open to exploring different opportunities in the technology industry and expanding my skill set.
