ABOUT LAURENCE DIVER
I\'m a cross-disciplinary specialist in technology regulation and responsible innovation. I combine creative thinking with technical knowledge and experience in the policy, regulation and ethics of AI, RegTech, FinTech and LegalTech. I have over a decade of experience in academic research, regulation and government, thinking about responsible innovation based on legal compliance, accountability, and democracy. I’ve published in a range of venues and been an invited speaker and teacher at universities and other institutions around the world. My work has been recognised with awards, scholarships, and multiple publications across a range of industry, academic and public venues. From 2019-24 I was a senior researcher in \'Counting as a Human Being in the Era of Computational Law\', a prestigious European Research Council project that explored the effect of AI and computation on legal protection and the Rule of Law. I co-founded and managed the Journal of Cross-disciplinary Research in Computational Law to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and theoretical innovation. I also have a technical background as a full stack web developer and sometime Linux sysadmin.
