Metamorphic provides tailored design consultancy services to organisations that want to evolve and accelerate their R&D through the use of Additive Manufacturing. We combine expertise in Design for Additive Manufacturing (3D printing), computational design, and simulation. Our team specialises in early-stage technology and innovation projects across a variety of sectors.Laurence is a co-founder of Metamorphic and leads its mechanical design services. Laurence breaks the mould of conventional engineering design through his creative approach to problem-solving and a desire to learn from and collaborate with people from outside of his field of expertise. His foundations in classical engineering and simulation provide insights into the performance of Metamorphic’s pioneering designs.

ABOUT LAURENCE COLES
Throughout my career I always endeavour to bring a proactive, enthusiastic and professional attitude to all my work, and strive to achieve a continuously high standard, while remaining highly organised and composed. I have achieved Chartered Engineering status, a PhD in advanced mechanics of materials and computational modelling and a First Class Masters Degree (DIS) with Honours in Mechanical Engineering. I have proven that I\'m a highly versatile, competent, and confident individual who has and will continue to apply myself to any situation and team to the best of my ability. I’ve also had excellent opportunities for detailed planning, negotiating, and networking via international collaborations, as well as direct and efficient problem solving and decision making all driven from my own initiative and tenacity during my various roles. My diverse experience has allowed me to gain great self-awareness and take great pride in my work, I’m always looking to learn and continuously improve and expand my skill set to develop myself as an engineer to ensure I remain a valuable asset in any team. I also take great pleasure in supporting those around me both personally and professionally, whether this is mentoring students, supporting my colleagues or as a line manager.
