About Lauren B. Worley
A native of Peebles, Ohio, a tiny Ohio River farming town,(she is) bright, personable, ambitious, brimming with idealistic energy… She’s a little bit old school and a little bit new school.” - Los Angeles Times, August 18, 2003A born-and-raised Ohioan and professional communicator, Lauren has led change-making initiatives at local, regional and global organizations, accomplishing results that have reshaped public policy and uplifted communities. At Cincinnati Public Schools, she led communications initiatives to address the crisis of childhood bullying and led the deployment of the district’s three-year strategic plan. As chief of staff to Ohio Lt. Governor Lee Fisher, Lauren led efforts to pass the Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit to greenlight hundreds of film and TV projects in Ohio, the Historic Preservation Tax Credit, and reprioritization of $1 billion for advanced energy projects - policies that have driven investments in rural and urban communities across Ohio. She was appointed by President Obama’s Administration to serve as the Press Secretary of NASA as the agency ended the historic 30-year space shuttle program, ushering in the golden era of commercial spaceflight. The common thread through all of these experiences is Lauren’s belief that storytelling can connect us to solve our biggest challenges. In 2018, she was named to the Cincinnati Business Courier’s Forty Under 40 and Venue Magazine’s Women of Influence. She is a proud graduate of Kent State University’s School of Journalism and a “Cincinnatian By Choice.”
