Clients range from regional multi-family housing operations to $1B+ national publicly traded companies. Established and piloted our firm’s presence in Atlanta in 2019 including a stand-alone satellite office and successfully directed all operations including existing/new client onboarding, remotely training a paralegal and local court procedures in Northern Georgia, Augusta and Savannah. Provide counsel to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with Fair Housing Laws, the CARES Act, the CDC Order, the South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia Residential Landlord and Tenant Act, and the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, among others, for multi-family housing clients. Worked with local financial organizations during the pandemic to negotiate with opposing counsel on obtaining full payment for rental balances. Created and delivered legal seminars throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, explaining topics such as fair housing and eviction laws, as well as disability accommodation requests and the legal implications for multi-family housing companies. Verified property ownership with the appropriate Register of Deeds, the South Carolina Secretary of State, and the South Carolina Real Estate Commission. Led the development of firm-wide pricing for the various types of services provided in South Carolina. Successfully litigated thousands of legal disputes across various courts in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. Successfully navigated and adapted to constant legal changes caused by the pandemic, resulting in continued business operations.
