ABOUT LAUREN WOOD
I have a working background in higher education and I am making the transition to K-12 education with a position as an 8th grade US History teacher. My professional goal is to incorporate education, arts and culture, and public policy in a way the promotes social change. In the next year, I intend to develop my skills as a curator, expanding my influence through multimedia exhibitions that will include visual and performing art mediums. A long-term goal is to spearhead the construction and operation of an arts and history complex in the Historic Sistrunk Blvd area by fostering relationships with community members, public officials, and members of the arts community. As a millennial professional, I look forward to building my career through diverse and enriching experiences that do not follow a traditional career path but cohesively tell a story that leaves a positive mark on the world.
