Hi LinkedIn Friends - My name is Lauren Withers. I was the girl who wrote her college essay on unicorns, and panicked about finding a career. Since then I\'ve worked hard, landed at Google and after half a decade of building for everyone, I am now helping to scale a game changing cyber security start up. Let me tell you how I got here. Yelp Sales was the spark to my career. Someone once told me that sales is the basis to business, and they were (mostly) right. If you can sell, you can interview, you can get that next promotion, you can begin building a brand, and so on.But Google taught me to go one step deeper: it is not until you learn to actively listen that everything starts to shift into place. When you learn to listen, you cultivate trust, relationships, healthy team cultures, and most importantly, you learn. I took the time to listen and learn, and in return developed a career in a vibrant and innovative company that embraced my quirky, and saw potential in it. For my next chapter I want to use these basic skills to do extraordinary things.
