About Lauren Slone

I\'m an internationally recognized arts leader in resource distribution, cultural equity strategy, and programmatic innovation. I\'m currently YoungArts Vice President of Artistic Programs. In my prior role as Director of Grants and Research at the MAP Fund, I oversaw the distribution of $13M+ dollars to 590 new, multidisciplinary projects. Most recently, I served on teams that operationalized Artist Relief, was appointed as Grantmakers in the Arts Individual Artists Support Committee Co-Chair, and joined a global funder forum on reimagining philanthropic practices. I\'ve also served as a nominator and panelist for major resource opportunities like the United States Artists Fellowship, and regularly consult on research projects and effective decision-making processes. As a lifelong student of dance, I\'ve created education curricula, youth mentorship programs, presentation platforms, and performance projects that democratize access to arts and culture. My broader purpose is to ensure that artists have resources to pursue their boldest ideas on their own terms.
