I was nominated and elected to serve as the Region 2 Assistant Director during the Regional Meeting in Peachtree City, GA in the fall of 2022. The term of office is typically three years, and my term began after the 59th Annual Associated Schools of Construction International Conference in Liverpool, UK in April 2023. The Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) is the professional association of construction educators and industry practitioners working together for the development and advancement of construction education. ASC promotes the sharing of ideas and knowledge and inspires, guides and promotes excellence in curricula, teaching, research and service. The ASC is made up of eight regions; seven regions from the United States and Canada and one European region. Region 2 Southeast includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. Graduates from ASC member institutions fill entry-level positions as project engineers, estimators, safety managers, superintendents, BIM managers, pre-construction, document control, communications, schedulers, etc.To learn more about ASC, visit: https://ascweb.org/
