ABOUT LAUREN OBRIEN

As a driven and passionate college student at the University of Virginia, I plan to pursue a double major in Economics and Commerce, with a minor in Entrepreneurship. My academic journey is complemented by hands-on involvement in business and finance, including my participation in the UVA Finance Academy, where I deepened my understanding of financial markets and strategies. This experience led to my selection for the UVA Finance Trek, where I had the opportunity to engage with over a dozen leading financial institutions. Beyond academics, I am committed to community engagement and leadership. As an active member of the Special Olympics and Best Buddies, I work to support individuals in the special needs community, fostering inclusion and empowerment. Additionally, my involvement in student organizations like Quantitative Traders at UVA and the Business Ethics Society has allowed me to apply my academic knowledge in real-world business contexts, while exploring the ethical dimensions of decision-making in finance and entrepreneurship. My goal is to leverage my interdisciplinary education to pursue innovative solutions in the finance sector while maintaining a strong commitment to social impact. I am eager to continue growing my network and exploring opportunities that will allow me to merge my passion for business with my dedication to creating positive change.
