The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) is the state agency responsible for protecting air, land, and water resources across the Commonwealth. I work in the Public Affairs Office to support statewide communication efforts that connect the public, media, and key stakeholders with the agency’s environmental initiatives. My work includes drafting press materials, creating and scheduling social media content and graphics, documenting events through photography and video, maintaining media coverage logs, and helping develop educational and promotional materials that strengthen MassDEP’s outreach and transparency efforts. This role has given me hands-on experience in environmental communication and public engagement while allowing me to contribute to projects that make the agency’s work more accessible to the public.
