ABOUT LAUREN MICHELAKIS

Lauren Michelakis works in Los Angeles as an independent contractor creating original prints, graphics, and embroideries for companies including Rhode, Christy Dawn, Dôen, Michael Stars, SPELL, Bella Dahl, Cloth + Stone, Ciao Lucia, Chan Luu, West Elm, Remnant Bikinis, and Farmgirl Flowers.Lauren began her professional career in the Fashion Industry as an \'Engineered Placement Print\' Designer for BCBG Max Azria Group, including BCBG Runway, Herve Leger, and BCBGeneration. She then worked for four years as the Textile Design Manager at Joie, where she developed concept, color, and prints across all the brand’s departments.Her background and interests include watercolor paintings, vintage fabrics, illustrations, and a passion for bringing these to textile products. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion and Textile Design at North Carolina State University and also studied at Lorenzo de Medici in Florence, Italy. Her pieces have been shown both nationally and internationally in conferences as well as runway shows. She has previously interned in Product Development, Fabric Research and Development, and Textile Design at Elizabeth and James as well as with an entrepreneur to help launch her first home textile design company, Struck by Nature Home.Lauren continues to work with brands in the apparel and home industries.Portfolio/Website: l••••••••@gmail.com
