ABOUT LAUREN MCCONKEY
Hello, my name is Lauren! I am a fourth year Architecture (B. Design) student at the University of Florida with an interest in themed environments, hospitality architecture, and green architecture. I have a passion for storytelling, history, and design. When not in the architecture studio, I am involved with Gator Theme Park Engineering and Design (TPED). I currently serve as one of TPED\'s Creative Design team leaders, where I organize team objectives in addition to working on my own themed entertainment design projects.I am currently a BIM Designer at Monarch Design Group, where I contribute to the development of architectural design projects from schematic design to construction documentation. Within this role I model existing and proposed conditions in Revit, select finishes and fixtures based on requirements and creative intent, and perform code reviews. Last summer I worked as an Area Development intern at Universal Creative, where I assisted in the information flow of RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings during the construction process. I performed daily site walks, documented site conditions, and recorded progress of project goals and deadlines through visual markups and written reports.
